Guangdong Province is located in the southernmost part of China’s mainland, facing the South China Sea and neighboring Hong Kong and Macau, with beautiful landscape and pleasant weather. Guangdong, also known as “Canton (Yue)”, boasts a long history. It is the place where the Cantonese culture was born and prospered and where China's Reform and Opening Up first started. People who live here are inclusive, practical, open-minded and innovative. Guangdong is not only an attractive destination for investment but also an ideal place for living. As a famous cultural city with a history over 2,200 years, today the capital city Guangzhou, is also the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. Guangzhou and Shenzhen stand side by side with Beijing and Shanghai as the global metropolitan cities in China.

廣東與230多個國家和地區建立了長期穩定的合作關系，來自180多個國家和地區在此設立超過24萬個項目，投資超過4400億美元。廣東自貿試驗區作為廣東商貿全球化的一個縮影，目前已吸引70家世界500強在區內投資設立企業超290家。重商、親商、安商的商貿文化，是廣東不斷創造奇跡的基因和血脈，2018年全省進出口總額首次突破7萬億元大關，占全國比重約1/4。從廣東出發的中歐班列、中亞班列，打開了“一帶一路”經貿合作和經濟發展的“黃金通道”，一個更加包容、合作、共贏的世界經濟增長引擎正在形成。

Guangdong has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with more than 230 countries and regions. More than 240,000 investment projects from over 180 countries and regions have been created with the investment value of more than US$ 440 billion. As a miniature of Guangdong's trade globalization, Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone has attracted more than 290 companies to make investments by setting up enterprises, including 70 from Fortune Global 500. It is the importance attached to the investors, close relationship with the investors and relaxing environment for the investors that enable it to constantly make miracles. In 2018, the province's total import and export volume exceeded 7 trillion yuan for the first time, accounting for about 25% of the national total. Starting from Guangdong, China-EU and China-Central Asian line trains have opened a “golden passage” for Belt and Road commercial cooperation and economic development. A more inclusive, cooperative and mutually beneficial world economic growth engine is taking shape.

The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is the general traction of Guangdong’s reform and opening up in the new era. Today, Guangdong takes its construction as a key program, highlights the connectivity and accelerates the process to make up the special development plan of the Greater Bay Area. Guangdong, together with Hong Kong and Macau will develop an international first-class bay area and a world-class city cluster to create an important source of power to lead the nation's high-quality development.

Guangdong Province is located at the southern tip of mainland China, neighboring South China Sea, Hong Kong and Macao; it has the most prosperous, active and open economy in China.Since the reform for over 30 years, Guangdong has achieved rapid sustained economic growth by fully utilizing favorable human, geographical and policies. To be exact, in 2009, its GDP increased by 9.5% with a total amount of RMB 3,908.1 Billion Yuan which accounted for 11.6% of the country’s GDP and ranked first for the 21st consecutive year.At present, enterprises from more than 100 countries and regions have made investments in Guangdong, while Guangdong enterprises have made investments in over 90 countries and regions throughout the world. In addition, its import and export trade volume has ranked first in China for the 24th consecutive year.

      Guangdong has a sound industrial system possessing world state-of-the-art capabilities of production, processing and supporting. It has 9 pillar industries (namely electronic information, electrical machinery, petrochemical, textile and clothing, food and beverage, building material, logging and papermaking, medicine and auto industries) as well as other Hi-tech industries. All these industries have formed many internationally competitive industrial clusters in aspects of electronic information, home appliance, fashion, furniture and metal works. Moreover, 80% of cell phone parts, 90% of computer parts as well as 100% of color television parts can be produced in Guangdong.
